SnoreTrack

Privacy Policy

Last updated 22 September 2026

The short version

Your recordings never leave your phone. Snoring clips and the numbers worked out from them are stored on the device and nowhere else.

You can use SnoreTrack without an account and without an internet connection. Two features are optional, off unless you turn them on, and explained in full below.

There is no advertising, no analytics, no tracking, and nothing is sold or shared for marketing.

1. What SnoreTrack records

While a recording session is running, the app listens through your phone's microphone, measures how loud the sound is, and decides whether each sound is snoring. When it finds loud snoring it saves a short audio clip.

The audio, the clips, the graph and every figure derived from them are written to a database on your phone. They are not uploaded anywhere as part of normal use.

2. What stays on your phone

Deleting a night in the app deletes its clips and figures from the phone. Uninstalling the app removes all of it.

3. Signing in (optional)

You may sign in with Google. Sign-in is handled by Firebase Authentication, a Google service, which provides SnoreTrack with your email address, your display name and an account identifier.

These are used to identify your account and for nothing else. They are not used for marketing and are not shared with anyone.

You can use the app fully without signing in, except for the written summaries described next.

4. Written summaries (optional, off by default)

SnoreTrack normally writes your night's summary itself, on the device, from a fixed set of sentences. If you switch on Written summary in Settings, the figures for that night are instead sent to our server to be phrased by Google's Gemini model.

What is sent

Exactly these figures, and nothing else:

No audio is sent. The date is not sent. Your name and email are not part of this data.

The sign-in token

Your Firebase sign-in token is sent with the request so the server can count it against a daily limit. That token identifies your account and carries your email address. Our server reads only the account identifier from it.

What our server keeps

A count of how many summaries your account has requested each day, stored against your account identifier for seven days and then deleted automatically. The figures, the summary and the token itself are not stored.

Google's part

The figures are sent to the Google Gemini API to be turned into sentences. SnoreTrack uses the paid tier of that service, under which Google states it does not use the content submitted, or the responses, to improve its products. Google's handling of that request is governed by its own terms.

Turning it off

Switch Written summary off in Settings and nothing further is sent. Summaries already written stay on your phone until the night is deleted.

5. Cloud backup

SnoreTrack contains a cloud backup feature that is switched off in this version. No night, figure or clip is uploaded for backup. If that changes, this policy will be updated before the feature is enabled and you will be asked to opt in.

6. Purchases

SnoreTrack Pro is sold through Google Play. Payment is handled entirely by Google; SnoreTrack never sees your card or payment details. The app receives only a confirmation that a subscription is active.

7. What SnoreTrack never does

8. Permissions, and why each is needed

9. Keeping and deleting your data

Nights stay on your phone until you delete them or uninstall the app. Daily request counters on our server are deleted after seven days.

To delete your account and any data associated with it, use Delete account in the app's Settings, or write to us at the address below.

10. Children

SnoreTrack is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

11. Not a medical device

SnoreTrack measures sound. It does not diagnose sleep apnoea or any other condition, and nothing it shows you is medical advice. If you are worried about your breathing while you sleep, speak to a doctor.

12. Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes to what is collected will be announced in the app before they take effect.

13. Contact
